《劝学》孟郊
击石乃有火，不击元无烟。
人学始知道，不学非自然。
万事须己运，他得非我贤。
青春须早为，岂能长少年。
Strike stones to make it burn; No smoke unless you strike.
You're crude if you don't learn; And you won't be sage-like
The soonest work your way, His dime is not your dime.
Do it young while you may; Can you prolong your prime?
译文：只有击打石头，才会有火花；如果不击打，连一点儿烟也不冒出。人也是这样，只有通过学习，才能掌握知识；如果不学习，知识不会从天上掉下来。任何事情必须自己去实践，别人得到的知识不能代替自己的才能。青春年少时期就应趁早努力，一个人难道能够永远都是“少年”吗？
五月四日是青年节。May 4th is Youth Day.
联合国the United Nations：曾在一份文件中把14岁至25岁的人称为“青年人口”。
世界卫生组织World Health Organization（WHO)：44岁以下的人被列为青年。
中国共青团Chinese Communist Youth League：年龄在14周岁以上，28周岁以下的青年。
国家统计局National Bureau of Statistics of China：统计部门对青少年的划分是0岁至14岁。
五四青年节源于中国1919年反帝爱国的“五四运动”，五四运动是一次彻底的反对帝国主义和封建主义的爱国运动，也是中国新民主主义革命的开端。1939年，陕甘宁边区西北青年救国联合会规定5月4日为中国青年节。
The Youth Day originated from Chinese Anti-imperialist and patriotic May Fourth Movement in 1919, which was a patriotic movement against imperialism and feudalism, and also the beginning of Chinese new-democratic revolution. In 1939, the Northwest Youth Salvation Federation of Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region stipulated May 4 as Chinese Youth Day.
五四精神的核心内容为“爱国、进步、民主、科学”。青年应该为了民族的独立和解放，为了国家的繁荣和富强，前赴后继，英勇奋斗，积极进取，勤奋工作。The core content of the May Fourth Spirit is "patriotism, progress, democracy and science". Youths should strive bravely, actively and diligently for the independence and liberation of the nation, the prosperity and strength of the nation.
五四青年节 “Youth Day"
青春永驻，风华常存。 so long as you are young.
青春不是年华，而是心境。Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind.
年轻是我们拥有权利去编织梦想的时光。Young is the only thing we have right to weave a dream time.
